I grew up in the 60's and 70's as the second last child of a family of seven. My Mom stayed at home with us and my father was the bread winner. Even though I am sure that money was very tight, I never felt poor. My Mom baked homemade bread and cooked great meals and is the best baker I know. Because she grew up in the 1930's in Newfoundland, she learned how to stretch a dollar and make it seem like we were rich.

When I was younger I always wanted to be a writer but I wanted to make money more. I was under the impression that you couldn't make money writing books. So I spent my adult life as a financial advisor. Several of my clients asked for a book about eliminating debt and they wanted it simple. So, I wrote one.

This book as evolved into so much more because my husband and I were going through our own financial crisis while I was writing it. You see, we are in the two areas of the economy hit hardest during this crisis. My husband is laid off from Ford and I am in the financial world. Add in the real estate bust, increasing business costs and an income slashed by 60% and you can be sure that I have used every lesson in this book to survive. I had to; I have three teenagers at home!

I have combined everything I have learned as an advisor and a victim of this crisis to bring a story that will give the financial and emotional advice you need to not only survive but to thrive!

I hope you enjoy it!
